2) I build my schedule around the existing schedule. For example, the bulk of my work is done around my son’s nap time, which gives me 2-3 hours of uninterrupted time.

4) I set up time weekly for both of us to be out of the house. He goes to daycare for a half a day to play and I work, then after I pick him up we have an outing together.
We are back to the time when women were able to stay home with their children,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but with the added bonus of still being able to persuade our own career goals as well. As we are with our children helping them grow it to the people they will become, we are evolving, growing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and learning as well. Evolving into a new generation of women that do not have to choose between our family and our career; Growing into women that are learning how to have it all.
3) I slowly incorporated the new schedule,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], giving both of us a chance to adjust to me working at home.

I relish the time that I get with my son. I love being able to start my day hearing his happy chatter over a leisurely breakfast, but it is not always the greatest. I found challenges as I transitioned to working at home. The first one was the adjustment period. I was not use to being able to flex my time, I was use to structure – start work at 8:00 am and work until 4:00 pm. Not only was I struggling to working out my schedule to maximize my time while allowing for the flexibility that drew me to working at home, but my son had some adjusting to do as well. He was accustomed to daycare and sitters during the day. Now, he had mommy home all day long and he equated that with playing with mommy all day long. When it was time for him to play in his custom play yard while I tried to get some work, my little angel,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], my heart, my happy little 1 year old,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], threw his first officially 1 year old tantrum. After a couple weeks of unproductive time spent trying to get work done while dealing with a very unhappy little boy I decide it was time to figure out how to make it all work.
The evolution of women seems to have come full circle. It was less than two generations ago that it was rare that a woman held a job,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], let alone her own business. It was less than twenty years ago that women slowly made their way into the workforce, some out of necessity and some out of wanting a career outside of the home. Women have since bridged the gap of working outside the home and staying home with their children by starting their own home-based business or even taking advantage of the new trend of telecommuting. The goal of working from home is to combine being able to stay at home with children and yet maintaining a career. It seems that this would be the best of both worlds yet; finding a balance to pull off working from home while juggling raising children is no easy task.

I think that Ross Fisher is such a wonderful young golfer, so polite,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], considerate and British, so I was in seventh heaven when he left the 4th green on Sunday leading the Open by two shots. It was even better that one of my all time favourites Tom Watson was only 2 behind and Lee Westwood, another favourite of mine was in the mix and playing at the top of his game as well. This was going to be a real treat. I was also aware that one of my old clubmates, Luke Donald, was posting a clubhouse leading score with a final round 67.

After both Ross and Lee hit their irons of the 5th tee into the rough, I was concerned that they might drop a shot, but I never dreamt that Ross would drop four shots! He didn't really do anything wrong on that hole, it was just the "rub of the green that you get on a traditional links course. He had a terrible lie in thick grass, had nowhere to drop and when he played it, the ball ended up in an even worse spot. He eventually got out onto the fairway playing six,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hit a good shot and almost holed a good putt.
At the risk of repeating myself,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the next time you're out on the course and the golfing gods or your golf mind seem to be against you, remember how Ross Fisher handled it at the Open. Accept what happened, consign it to the past where it can no longer hurt you and get on with playing the next shot to the best of your ability.
Given his composure, I was surprised to recall Ross saying, in an interview at the Masters this year, that he didn't use a golf psychologist. He did say that he did have one provided by the English Golf Union back in his amateur days. I'd like to know who that was, because he's certainly done some good and long lasting unconscious mind work with young Ross!
It all reminded me of rounds that I've had playing in top amateur competitions from the championship tees at Open Championship venues like Royal Birkdale and Royal St Georges where the rough could be almost unfairly penalising. What was different about Ross was that he just kept smiling, stuck to his routine and got on with it. He even smiled and doffed his hat in response to the applause from the crowds when he finally holed out on the 5th green. What's more,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he parred the next hole and his last 10 holes. In other words,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he accepted that these things happen on the golf course and just got back on with his job as a professional golfer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hitting good shots and pleasing the crowd. And just in case you forgot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he had the impending birth of his first child to think about as well.
In part one,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I talked about the golf psychology lessons from Tom Watson's amazing performance both on and off the course at this year's Open Championship at Turnberry. So what other golf psychology lessons can we learn from some of the other contenders?
Now I know the valiant and expectant Ross Fisher's challenge effectively died in the thick rough at the 5th hole on Sunday. The United States and President Bush have come in for harsh criticism during a day of sharply-worded speeches at the annual U.N. General Assembly debate. Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez got personal, calling Mr. Bush "the devil himself."
Chavez burnished his reputation as one of Washington's severest populist critics Wednesday. To rousing applause in the U.N. General Assembly hall, he described the United States as a "hegemonistic power" intent on world domination, and a "threat to the survival of the human race".
Mr. Chavez had even stronger words for President Bush. The leftist leader called the president "the devil", and said Mr. Bush had left a smell of sulfur in the chamber from his appearance the previous day.
"Yesterday, the devil came here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], right here, and it smells of sulfur still today," said Hugo Chavez. "Yesterday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ladies and gentlemen,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], from this rostrum, the president of the United States, the gentleman to whom I refer as the devil, came here talking as if he owned the world."
There were no senior U.S. officials in the chamber at the time, but Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice later told reporters she would not dignify Chavez's comments with a reply. The annual assembly debate also provided a forum for a spat between Asian neighbors Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Opening Wednesday's debate, Afghan President Hamid Karzai decried the current surge of violence in his country which he said is the worst since U.S. forces overthrew the Taliban in 2001. He did not mention Pakistan by name, but said outsiders are responsible.
"We must look beyond Afghanistan to the sources of terrorism," said Hamid Karzai. "We must destroy terrorist sanctuaries beyond Afghanistan, dismantle the elaborate networks in the region that recruit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], indoctrinate, train, finance arm and deploy terrorists."
A short time later,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf rejected Karzai's charge. Always be on the look-out for new, better more innovative ways to allocate your time, so that you can get the most from your available time.
